National Teams

The Scotland 6 a side team has competed in major UK and international 6 side championships.

The first Scotland 6-a-side team was formed in 2013 from a combination of teams scouted at the UK National 6-a-side Championships. Over subsequent years, the UKMA attempted to bolster the team to make them even more competitive, so in the spring of 2014 the first ever trials were held in Scotland, and a number of players from Glasgow were added to the squad, along with the players from Dumfries that formed the basis of the squad previously.

The new look team competed in the Home Nations tournament in July at the UK 6 a side Championships event and remaining undefeated, picking up their first victory in the process.

In 2015 it was announced that Jamie Leggett, Chief Scout for the UKMA who had acted as Head Coach on a temporary basis had been given the job permanently.

In 2016, the Scotland 6-a-side team licence was granted by the UKMA to Jamie Leggett, Graham Finlay and George Leggett who have continued to grow and develop the team successfully
