England’s Minifootball License Holders, Paul Darke and Paolo Vernazza have made some changes to the structure of the coaching team.

Firstly, England’s most capped player Scott Cousins has been named as Head Coach, with Rob Ursell – who himself played for England  - has been named as Tactics Coach, as Darke explained: “He has gained extensive knowledge and experience of EMF Euros through having played at the last four tournaments. He is well respected by the players and we are excited to give him the opportunity to express and show his excellent coaching qualities.”

Gary Thomas has been retained to assist Scott. Gary has good experience of the EMF Euros, having been assistant coach in each of the last two tournaments. Gary’s role will be an important one, as Scott will remain in a playing role.

The Team Director was also thrilled to welcome Rob Ursell, and he admitted he thought Ursell’s experience could prove vital. “We have decided to bring in him in as a specialist set-piece coach for this year’s tournament in Hungary.

“Rob has played at the top level in Futsal both in England and abroad,  we felt that a specialist set-piece coach would move us forward further and his strong Futsal and tactical knowledge will help develop us to compete with the strong Eastern European countries. Rob will also be part of the playing squad.”
