There was a very special presentation at the Brackla Sports Centre in Bridgend last weekend, as the Wales squad honoured their training base with a signed shirt.

The team – led by Manager Barry John – met with Brackla Sports Centre’s Ian Portway (pictured) to hand over the kit to mark the fact the venue has become so synonymous with the Wales team over the last year.

Many of the Wales squad are based in Bridgend, as is the Manager, and the facilities at Brackla have been a key factor in the improvement of the Wales team.

Speaking about Brackla, the UKMA’s Alex Young was delighted to see the partnership recognised by the team: “This initiative was something that the squad and management themselves wanted to do and it only goes to show the community focus that really exists in our sport. We commend all of them.”

Brackla Sports Centre is a UKMA Officially Accredited Venue, and Alex said the award was well deserved: “The facilities at Brackla are second to none in the area, and we very much look forward to continuing our relationship with them in the months and years to come."

Brackla Sports Centre is the venue for the Wales National Team trials again in 2015.
