The United Kingdom Minifootball Association (UKMA) can today announce a change of direction regarding the future management of the England Minifootball team.

After a number of meetings, the UKMA board has decided to restructure the coaching side of the England squad and will no longer retain the services of Manager Chris McIntosh and Assistant Trevor Dennison.

UKMA Honorary President Tim Ollerenshaw said that the decision was in no way a reflection on the pair, who had helped England to a vastly improved showing in this year’s miniEURO, where the team reached the quarter finals before losing to Romania.

Mr Ollerenshaw explained: “We have decided to take a different direction moving forward with the England team and, whilst thanking both Chris and Trevor for their loyal services over the past year we have decided that we will be moving forward with a new management team for England with immediate effect.

“Let me say categorically that we have taken this decision based on the approach we want to take with the England team and England players more generally."

Further announcements regarding the future management of the England team will be made in due course.
